Ubisoft has also unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Skull and Bones at the July 7 event. Skull and Bones New Gameplay Trailer: What did it reveal? Unfortunately, the game won’t be available on last-gen consoles and Nintendo Switch as previously assumed. Skull and Bones will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC (via Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store). The announcement also confirms the previous Xbox listing leaks that hinted at a November release for the game. That’s a day before the highly-awaited God of War Ragnarok. Ubisoft has officially announced the release date for Skull and Bones as November 8, 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic pushed the launch even further and the pirate adventure will finally launch later this year. However, it didn’t launch and was pushed back to 2020. Skull and Bones was first announced at E3 2017 and was scheduled to launch in 2019. The pirates are going to set sail later this year! Skull and Bones Release Date and Platforms There’s plenty of information available now to look forward to and a beta will go live soon. However, multiple delays have pushed it to this year and we finally have major updates about it after 2020. We’ll get to find out when it sets sail on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Amazon Luna and Google Stadia this November 8th.Ever since Ubisoft unveiled the first look at the upcoming pirate adventure in the Indian Ocean, gamers have been eagerly waiting for the launch. We have our fingers crossed that Skull and Bones will, despite our reservations, have been worth the wait. This may be because Skull and Bones is geared towards bigger fleet-on-fleet battles, but Rare’s Sea of Thieves, which is on its sixth season, lets you team up to crew a ship and it’s an awful lot of fun. Secondly, only one player can man each ship – there’s no indication you can have several players crewing one ship. Firstly, there’s a big focus on crafting – you can’t, going by the trailer, purchase a new ship, you have to actually build it from scratch. But there are a couple of things about Skull and Bones that give us pause for thought. We loved Black Flag’s ship-to-ship combat and on, one hand, the prospect of experiencing the same kind of ship-smashing shenanigans makes us smile. The good news is that, should you sink, you’re not automatically sent back to your tiny ship, you just lose a major chunk of your cargo. You can conquer the seas solo, but you can also team up with other players to make your own fleet, so you can count on an awful lot of ship-to-ship combat. Keeping your crew happy is important fail to keep them fed and, presumably, paid, and they’ll mutiny. Taking its cues from the excellent Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, it casts you as an up and coming pirate who, starting out with a glorified rowboat, has to plunder, treasure hunt and slaughter their way to victory. But, as revealed at yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward, it’s set for November release date. We certainly had our doubts and, if the stories behind the scenes are to be believed, it’s been back to the drawing board at least once. Skull and Bones is a multiplayer-focused pirate game that’s been in development for over eight years, to the point where a lot of people though it was going to be cancelled. Skull and Bones finally has a gameplay trailer and, even more surprisingly, a release date that’s just a few months away.
